There are so many people no longer on the web today that failed due to improper design and they didn’t even know it. The repairs are usually easy to make but they have hired the wrong person for the job. Improper design can include many things like poor choice of colors, strange functionalities, and even too deep of a site.

Web design really is everything when you build a website. One of the most important things when you build a site today is that it should be designed in a program that is easy for everyone to learn. Don’t hire a web design technician that writes his own code and when repairs need to be made you are relying on this person. When this happens you end up on paying way too much money. Plus, if this person leaves you then you will have to completely rebuild the site over again.

Many companies have problems and fail due to a poor choice of colors on the site. What you think looks good and is classy may be straining to the eyes for the audience you are targeting. You may have a site selling Christmas trees and the colors you have chosen are red and green to match the holiday colors. Whenever users access the artificial Christmas trees page they are blinded by a bright red page with text that is hard to read. Too bright of colors causes problems because the first thing a user’s instinct tells them to do is exit the page. This will not help you sell artificial Christmas trees. Instead, too bright of colors run off traffic. Always use colors that are pleasing to the eyes.

Another way that companies fail online with their website design is through integrating strange functionalities. When you integrate strange things on your site it is only confusing to the visitors. You may think that certain things look cool or when you click on this it takes you to a neat place. If your site has anything confusing about it then users will go somewhere else. Online shoppers expect sites that are easy to manage and click through without problematic issues. Even though it is cool to you it may be a problem for the visitors of your site.

Another website design that causes companies to fail and they do not realize it is the site depth. Site depth is vital for search engines. Search engines work by indexing web pages on websites but they will only index pages that are two or three pages deep. You may have a lot of information or products you think go under one category and then another. The problem is that when you take your pages deeper than 3 on a site then they are not being indexed by the search engines. That means they may never be brought up on the search engines. In addition, users often get confused when a site goes really deep, especially if it is not clear to them how to return back to previous pages they were just visiting.
